Interactive Dialog

The interactive dialog allows you to characterize your TMC of interest in order to generate position descriptions, lists of testable skills, and training programs customized to your TMC. Two versions of the interactive dialog are available, the full dialog and the streamlined dialog, and you can opt to begin either version with default selections based on various existing TMCs or with no default selections provided.

The full dialog allows you to fully describe the TMC of interest by selecting all of the functions, composite tasks, and discrete tasks that the TMC performs. You can also create new functions and tasks if the base set of functions and tasks does not include everything that you need. After you characterize your TMC using the full dialog, detailed statistics about frequency, timeframe, and performance level will be available for every KSA required to perform the selected functions and tasks.

If you are only interested in obtaining the complete KSA list, without creating a comprehensive characterization of the TMC of interest, the streamlined dialog will allow you to do so. However, the detailed statistics about each KSA will not be available.

If you have started a new interactive dialog session in the current browser session, or if you have loaded a profile with saved interactive dialog inputs, "Return to Full Dialog" and/or "Return to Streamlined Dialog" links will appear below. Click one of the "Return to..." links to return to the interactive dialog using your prior inputs. Click one of the "Start New..." links to start a new interactive dialog session using the chosen set of defaults. Any inputs that have not been saved to a profile will be lost.

Please note that use of your web browser’s Back and Forward buttons is discouraged when you are in the interactive dialog, because using them may produce messages like "Warning: Page has Expired." Use of the Previous and Next buttons provided inside the tool is the preferred method of navigation within the interactive dialog. (For more details, see the Navigation page in the help system.)
